After leaving Florence, we headed to Lucca and Pisa. Lucca is very old Italian walled city that has unique historic charm. Puccini, probably the most famous of all Opera composers with titles such as Madame Butterfly, Tosca, La Boheme, and Turandot, worked and lived in Lucca. This was the highlight for Rodger!! After our short stay in Lucca, we drove over to Pisa.
You can't go to Italy without taking this photo. Mom and Dad suggested not to spend much time in Pisa, as there really wasn't much there to see except the leaning tower. (Actually, the Baptistery was more impressive than the tower!!) They were right, which is why we ran out of the car, took the picture, and headed straight towards the beach for Viareggio!
