Dance Ensemble Year End Party -Bella Ferek Speech

At the beginning of this season, all the “single ladies” and men of ensemble showed up at SPA ready to dance, work hard, and build friendships. You each brought your own unique talents and gifts, ready to contribute to ensemble. It was like a “dollhouse” of amazing dancers, minus the creepy competition faces. Each and every one of you came in having “joie de vivre” or a joy of living, or maybe it was just a little too much “coffee in a cardboard cup!”  Regardless, you are all special and talented dancers that came together to make an incredible ensemble.

Leading the ensemble teams were amazing teachers and choreographers. Some may even call them “icons.” This year, ensemble had some of the most talented and experienced teachers in the industry. Peeking in through the windows to watch rehearsals, it was almost like “puppets vs. masters.”  But you listened to them and became better dancers because of them. They created performances that we all will remember for a lifetime.  From “good girl” all the way up to “mother drum,” the teachers and choreographers produced award-winning competition and performance pieces for all levels and genres. Teachers, these dancers “wannabe” you some day and thank you for the gift of dance. And thank you to all of the supportive parents who take time out of their day to drive their kids to classes, come to performances, and help out all together. Each of you are the real “queens...” and “kings.”

Now, as we all know, there may have been some recent “poison,” but everyone here is “indestructible.”  I know you all “can’t stop the feeling” and that ensemble has given you a lifetime of memories, everlasting friendships, and a dance foundation to carry with you onto your next adventures. I know everyone will go on to do great things, so put on your “blue suede shoes” and “hit the road jack” in your future endeavors.  Everyone’s dance possibilities are endless and everyone will be amazing.

Here are a few tips:  don’t “bury a friend” at your new dance studios, please “mind the gus,” and show all those other dancers how incredibly talented you are.  And remember to “unlock the swag” onstage!

Good luck and congratulations to everyone on an amazing ensemble year! Without further ado, let’s “get crunk!”
