Celebrating with family

Watching the mixologist make our frozen drinks

Cheers to cousins!
It's always good to get together with the whole family, especially when it is a "free" dinner out!  Thanks to the loyalty program at Uncle Julio's, we celebrated everyone (or as Beau called it "Sophie's second party") with an appetizer and dessert dinner for free.  We all have reasons to be thankful and grateful, and today it was all about getting together as a family.

Swim girls - 2018 Rebels Swim Team

Cress Creek Rebels - 7-8 season for Sophie and Abby was a truly fun summer experience.  Even though they didn't practice at the same time, the girls were at the same age group team.  There were a few times that they swam on the same relay and a couple of times that they swam on competing relays.  Nevertheless, these girls had so much fun!

Free Relay Team 2018
Abby ended the year quite strong.  Every time she swam freestyle, she earned a time drop.  It made her really motivated to continue to get better each meet.  She swam all 4 events by the end of the season but is best at back and free.  She also loves to be on the relay teams.

City Girls 7-8s
Sophie swam her way into city times at the beginning of the season in every event (except breast).  She continued to have fun and improve, and ended up swimming free, back, and fly at the City Meet.   She was most proud of her 1 second time drop in free at the City Meet.

Sophie was very proud of her time drops at City

The girls just love their coaches, and will miss all of the seniors... especially Savanna and Kelsey.  Luckily, Maddie will still be there next year and also to babysit us!  They were so sad after watching the end of year video realizing that swim team is over for the year.   Until next time, Rebels....

Girls Day in the City

Special days with Mom in the city are what make the best memories.  I took the girls on the train downtown for a girls day, which included the American Girl doll store, lunch in the AG restaurant with our dolls, and a trip to Navy Pier.  The girls picked out new toys at the store and played with them all day.  We rode the ferris wheel, swings, and they climbed the rock wall so many times that day.  Margaritaville was calling our name for a nice break before Daddy got jealous and met us for dinner downtown too.  All in all it was a great day.

They played here for a good 45 minutes before I cut them off.

Love that each doll had their own seat on the Ferris Wheel

Sophie’s summer fun

Sophie loves summer.... she enjoys sleeping in until about 9:00 am, going to swim team and her other activities of the day. This summer, she is extremely busy with swimming, tennis, stretch and strength, hip hop, voice lessons, ballet, jazz, and tumbling. In addition, she does Mommy school, which consists of reading, math, typing, chores, journals and more. As a treat, Sophie gets rewarded with allowance or special days out, like the photos below. She even squeezes in time to play with friends, go to parties, and play on the iPad. Seems like a pretty awesome summer to me!
