Little But Loud 2018

Look at these cuties as they are getting ready to perform their county western songs for an audience!  Little But Loud show choir is always twice as fun when you can be with your sister and lots of your friends.  "Country Road", "I Will Always Love You", "Walking After Midnight", and "Achy Breaky Heart" were the songs that these boys and girls sang and danced to this season.  Both of my girls loved "I will Always Love You" the best, but perhaps it is because I introduced them to the Whitney Houston version from my childhood.  Nevertheless, they love to be on stage and singing for an audience, so this group was perfect for them!

Naperville Chorus goes to Washington

Rodger deserves all of the credit for researching, planning, and organizing this trip to Washington DC for the Naperville Chorus.  They were given the opportunity to participate in the Memorial Day Choral Festival at the Kennedy Center.  Each day was a lot of practicing and touring of our nation's capitol.  It was a fantastic experience for those who participated, and a moving experience for those who listened.  Bravo!

The final season... Kendall Park Soccer

It is bitter sweet to post this blog.  After seven soccer seasons, both Abby and Coach Rodger are hanging up their cleats and whistle.  Most of the girls on the team have decided to move up to Premier which means the Kendall Park girls team will not go forward.

Below are a few pictures from this final season along with the end of season video.  Enjoy!

Abby loved having her Dad as her coach!

Great America in May

I don't ever remember going to Great America and wearing a jacket, hat, and gloves... but that did not stop us from having a fantastic day at the theme park.  It's always more fun to be there with friends, and we went with Sophie's Dance Crew as they performed for part of the day.  After the performance, we had a blast with Stella and Lilly going on lots of rides, including the American Eagle (for the first time).  It was a chilly, but super cool day!

Purple Reign - spring season

It definitely rained on this year's season of Purple Reign.  There were so many cancelled practices and games that the season was a bit frustrating.  Mother nature just didn't agree this spring sports in 2018.  In addition, the team was moved up to the more competitive bracket, which made each game fierce and often disappointing.  Nevertheless, these purple soccer stars always tried their best and had great attitudes towards the game of soccer.  Sophie continues to love goalie, and therefore is signed up for yet another season in the fall!

Go Ape!

The end of year celebration for our Girl Scout Troop was an adventure to Go Ape outdoor ropes course.  It was such a fantastic place to learn about fears, trust, and just have some outdoor fun.  Everyone had a great time, but I was most proud of Sophie who overcame her fear of the zipline and by the end of the session had gone on it multiple times.  Good times for sure!!

DDC Performance at Cougars Game

Despite the cold weather and rain that came mid-game, the Debut Dance Crew had a great performance for their first time showing off their "production number" to a crowd.  The girls were a bit chilly in their uniforms, but still looked cute and danced well on the field.  Sophie enjoyed the ballpark snacks when she was done too!  Glad we left when we did because rain storms were pretty bad on the way home that day, and some friends got caught staying at the game just to avoid getting wet going to their cars!

Purple Reign - Spring 2018

Sophie and her soccer team, the Purple Reign, did not have a successful season of wins... in fact I think they may have lost every single game.  It was due to them being put into a higher bracket of competitive play in the Premier league, and it made for a long season.  Nevertheless, Sophie still loved to play goalie and enjoyed the team.  She still wants to play soccer too!  Thanks to her coaches and friends on the team, we will continue to play for another season... likely as goalie again because that's where she loves to be!
