I am beyond excited to share these beautiful and delicious treats with others. They are the creation of Priscilla — my former student, doctor by day, mommy of two, and Baker by night. The is the most amazing person I know.
Cil created the two sets for the Fourth of July at Caveney Cove and for Grandma and Grandpa's 50th wedding anniversary. I just can't wait to see what else she comes up with in each new cookie set she creates!

Triathlon 2017
Sophie and Abby are triathletes... they swam 6 and 8 laps, biked and ran their hearts out at the annual Cress Creek swim team triathlon this morning. Both said it was exhausting but fun!

Holiday concert
Watch out Naperville... the family is singing!! The Naperville Chorus performed a Patriotic concert with the Naperville Municipal Band for the Fourth of July and Valerie, Tom, AND Rodger were up on stage singing along. It was a great show.. despite the rain that came towards the end. Grandma and the kids were troopers to watch, until the canons were going off— Abby was not a fan of the boom! The choir sounded great and they were invited back to sing again next year. Who knows if it'll be a family affair again!

Swim Team 2017
And we are off... to another swim team season and it is off to a fantastic start. While the summer is crazy and super busy, this swim season could not be any better for these two girls. Abby is a superstar in the water. From last year taking last and barely going in to this year as the team leader, Abby is just ROCKIN it at swim team. She has great friends and loves to go and has found her happy place in the swimming pool. She swims faster and faster each day. She even writes journal entries about how she loves her friends on swim team. I could not be happier for her. Sophie is also doing equally well. She is learning new strokes this year and excelling as a 7-8 swimmer. She is swimming fast and having fun. She is doing well and enjoys each and every time she is at the pool. Wow!!

Our King
Happy Father's Day to our King... we celebrated downtown Chicago on a beautiful sunny Sunday at the park, followed by the matinee performance of the King and I. After the show, we went to dinner for bisque and lobster rolls. They were delicious! It was a great way to celebrate our Dad. We love him so much.

Vacation Bible School
The girls enjoyed another great week at Saints Peter and Paul Vacation Bible School. They look forward to going to this camp with their friends and enjoy learning about God and having fun too! Abby was most excited that one of the characters was named Ab-bee the bumblebee!
What made this really special is that Abby volunteered to lead the entire group in a prayer and she chose to recite the Guebert's common table prayer which was a new one for everyone. She was so proud. Sophie said one too— the Hail Mary. Way to lead others, girls!

Dance Recital 2017
In this year's dance recital 2017, Abby and Sophie were very busy little dancers. They both were performers in the opening act of Little But Loud singing "Fame" and "Gonna get my name in Lights". Then, after a costume change, Abby and her pals did a tap dance number to Singin' in the Rain which was a crowd favorite with umbrellas in hand while Sophie and her crew did a hip hop routine to "Get your Hands Up". They both did a great job on stage with huge smiles and great dance moves. Then, on Sunday night, Sophie performed again in her tap routine with cowgirl outfits and then ballet routine to "Enchanted". What a fun weekend of dance!

Broadway Mini
Here's Sophie in her last Broadway Mini Production. She has had such a great time learning how to be a little actress over the past couple of years. This show she was most excited to "talk into a phone". She sang a solo of "Summertime" and they sang beachy tunes. Sophie loves to perform and sing so I imagine she'll continue to do something again next year like this too.
