I took an early morning flight to Minneapolis to visit with Jamie (and Angela) for a day. We had such a great time catching up with each other. Best friends are ones who don't see each other for years and pick up as if no time has gone by... We just sat and talked and drank and talked and ate and talked and drank some more and shopped and talked and ate and talked and drank and talked and then I ran and caught my flight home. It was a great day!!
This summer we have been running non-stop... oh wait.. that's basically our life! Saturday mornings are no different with an early morning workout and then off to the pool for an 8 am swim meet. We wouldn't miss this one... swimming against our friends the Duker family and Tall Grass. It's also nice to have friends to wake up and chat with early in the morning!
Abby learned a lot and had great fun at Safety Town this past week. She went with her friend Gracie and met new friends that Gracie knew from preschool. They even had day long playdates afterward some of the days. Abby had a fun time each day retelling us what she had learned. Her favorite day was the fire safety day at the Nalco house, of course!
This is the token photo from Father's Day from Cantigny. Rodger really wanted to go see the tanks and the only one that would go with him was Abby!! We had a nice day overall with church, brunch, an art show, and family swim time at the club.
The girls had a fantastic week at vacation bible school with their friends the Brees and the Munacos. They have been singing the songs from camp all summer!! We cants wait to go back next year.
Abby is a swimmer! She is one of just 3 five year old girls able to swim across the pool and compete in swim meets. But, Abby had a fear of the starting block. Here she is overcoming her fear and taking the big girl dive! We are really proud of our little one.
Cress Creek Swim season is upon us again and we kick of the season with a pool party!! Abby and Sophie are swimming in the six and under team together and they are starting off the year great... Abby is making friends and learning to swim across the pool. Sophie is a strong swimmer for the six and under team and she is helping her sister learn what it means to be on swim team. They are having fun playing at the pool every day and playing with the coaches! Here are a few pictures from the pool party and pep rally.
This year, the girls were old enough to sign up for golf at Cress Creek. They play twice a week. One day they take lessons and the other day they play. The girls are only good enough to play "snag" golf, but they don't care.. they are still having fun. They also get to see their cousins... and the best part of all..... popcorn in the locker room!!
The second dance recital of the week for Sophie and Abby's recital was for their ballet performances. Both girls showed off their talents in a routine for the School of Performing Arts at Pheiffer Hall. Abby's dance was to "Beyond the Sea" in those adorable sailor outfits. Each girl had a great performance and a row full of family and friends to watch them perform on stage. It's clear that both Guebert girls enjoy being on stage.
Sophie performed in two dance recitals this season, and the first was her "junior" hip hop routine. Her teacher was Miss Megan whom she really adored. Sophie enjoyed the class each week and picks up on choreography well for a six year old. Here are a few pictures from before and after her performance. The video will come in the future...
