Just Doin' my Exercises

Our hilarious little three year old demonstrating her famous "exercise" move.

Boyne Mountain Trip

Boyne Ice Monument
We decided to be adventurous and take the girls to Northern Michigan for their first snow skiing experience.  Both girls took private lessons and learned a lot from the instructors.  Abby loved the "magic carpet", and Sophie really picked up on the fundamentals quickly.  In addition we spent the weekend at Lisa's lake house and visited Boyne City and Petosky.  All in all, it was a great weekend.

A Day at the Museum

We enjoyed a fun day at the Science and Industry Museum.  Both girls said the highlight was the Monarch Butterfly Omnimax movie; however, I found the "Math in Nature" exhibit to be worthwhile. Here are a few photos from the day:

Happy New Year 2015

We celebrated New Year's eve very low key this year... enjoying some take-out at home and swimming in the pool.  As we look back on 2014, there are so many things that we are proud of and thankful for.  Some 2014 highlights include:  potty training Abby, Rodger rockin' his first triathalon, Sophie loving swimming and soccer (especially with her Daddy as the coach), Sophie learning how to read, Valerie celebrating 20 years of teaching,  Grandma Lydia's 100th birthday and the Jaskowiak Reunion planning which was a big success.  In addition, there are so many things that we look forward to in the upcoming year. All of us are looking to become more fit and healthy.  Rodger is planning to beat his younger brother in the triathalon this summer, and Valerie is going to finally commit to losing all of the weight put on from having our two wonderful children.  Sophie is looking forward to starting kindergarten, learning to tie her shoes, and learning to ride a two wheeler this spring.  Abby cannot wait to learn to read like her big sister and is looking forward to ice skating as well as "Dora".  We are looking forward to a great 2015.
