Happy Memorial Day!
Not all family members were cooperative about taking some family photos after the Memorial Day parade. Take a close look, and I bet you will be able to figure out who we are talking about... nevertheless, here are some holiday photos of our family.

Motown Girls
Roger and Valerie enjoyed a night out with parents Tom and Karen in Chicago. We saw Motown the musical and experienced one of the most unique dinners at Topolopampbo. I think this picture was taken after our third round of top shelf margaritas.

When Mom's away....
....the kids will play! Instead of cooking dinner when Mommy had a girls night out, Daddy took them for ice cream at Colonial. Not sure who was more excited, but now the girls keep asking to go back to the place with the cow.

It's Sophie's turn...
As the doctor said, he has never had a patient THIS excited for tonsil surgery. Sophie just wanted to be like her little sister. I think she just wanted the new pajamas and a pink sparkly dolphin stuffed animal. Nevertheless, her surgery was a success. She did great!

Sidewalk Chalk
Jusin Roberts, one of our favorite children's performers has a great song about Sidewalk Chalk.... when Sophie showed me her masterpiece, I could not help but think of that song! What a wonderful piece of art that was washed away by the springtime rain.

A night in the city....
Sophie and Abby really enjoyed staying at the Palmer House for their evening in the city. |
It has become an annual gift to receive tickets to see a theater production as our Christmas present from Rodger and Janis Guebert. This year, we saw "The Sound of Music" at the Lyric Opera House. As a special treat, we also stayed downtown Chicago at the Palmer House and let the girls enjoy a night at the hotel with Auntie Kay Kay. The following day, we had the most excellent Sunday brunch at Shaw's Crab House and took the girls to see a children's production of "The Three Little Pigs" at the Apollo Theater. We vowed to take advantage of Chicago more often and the kids agreed since they had such a fun weekend!
