Thanksgiving/Christmas on the farm

Sophie loves to tell people about her grandparent's house on the farm.  She also loves to tell everyone about how much fun she had with all of her aunties and uncles over Thanksgiving.  We celebrated the holiday with a family meal, the movie Frozen with Uncle David and Aunt Shelley, holiday lights in St. Louis, and a trip to St. Charles, Missouri for their winter celebration parade.  The girls are most grateful for their Christmas gifts from Grandma Janis and Grandpa and the rest of the family.

Let's start these holidays!

It's mid-November.... that means Christmas shopping is done, gifts for the Gueberts are wrapped, and the decorations at home are done.  So, the only thing left to do is start celebrating with all of the great holiday events that take place around Chicagoland.  We ventured out to Chicago to see the trees at the museum of Science and Industry.

We also enjoyed our time in the Disney exhibit... especially learning about Elsa and Anna's snow and how to draw Mickey Mouse.

French Lick West Baden Resorts

The view from the front porch of the French Lick historic hotel.  Reminded us of Mackinaw's Grand Hotel.

This is the grand dome of the West Baden resort.  Rodger had a lot of fun taking plenty of photos of this beautiful hotel.

This is the site of the famous spring in which the Pluto Water came from.  Thank goodness for all that this water is no longer available... I'm sure my body would have had a super cleanse!

On the second part of our Southern Indiana weekend, we traveled to the historic resorts of French Lick and West Baden.  Rodger and I agreed that we enjoy hotels with both luxury and history.  We toured both hotels, ate a fantastic dinner, and relaxed with hot stone massages.  It was a wonderful getaway weekend for us.

Back home in Indiana

Our annual fall getaway weekend this year was to Southern Indiana.  We indulged ourselves with some Hoosier basketball and football, along with my favorite places on Indiana University's campus.  It was nice to stay at the Grant Street Inn and enjoy a walk around my old stomping grounds.
