A Day in the City

We spent a wonderful day in Chicago enjoying the beautiful weather and introducing the girls to the Shedd Aquarium.  They LOVED IT!!  They both said their favorite part was the Dolphin Show.

After the aquarium, we went over to the Macy's Walnut Room for dinner, the Disney Store, and cupcakes from The Magnolia Bakery before heading home.  Kay was able to join us after Shedd for dinner and bought the girls some new Disney PJs (Thanks Auntie!!).  The Girls were SO wiped out, they fell asleep before leaving The Loop.

Flooding in Downtown Naperville

The DuPage river should be cresting about now so we ventured downtown to witness the effect. Attached are pictures of Jackson Street covered by water and The Beach as a huge lake!!

The Flood of 2013

We were very fortunate to have survived the Flood of 2013 with no water in the basement or damage despite having water up to our back windows. Many of our neighbors were not so lucky with some having over 3 ft of water in their basements!

After helping out our neighbors, we decided to check out the flooding downtown Naperville. The DuPage river is flowing into The Beach's pool and up to the bottom of the bridges. The problem is the water is continuing to rise!

After a long day, we treated the girls to some ice cream cones.

Look Who's a Star!!

At our neighbor's birthday party, Abby received some Star stickers as a gift. She decided to get a little creative.

Grandma Janis Came to Visit

Due to a death in the family, Grandma Janis drove up to Wisconsin for the wake and funeral.  On the way back, she spent part of the weekend with the girls.  I'm pretty sure Abby (and Sophie) enjoyed her stay.
