Family Reunion 2011

One word to describe this reunion: HOT. You can see in the photos that the best part of the day was trying to cool off in the swimming pool. Thanks to Grandma Janis and Grandpa for letting us cool off in your air conditioned cabin. Despite the heat, both Rodger and Loran ran their marathon training run of 11 miles in the morning. Congrats to both of them!

Last Day of Ballet

Sophie is getting ready for her final performance in the mommy and me ballet class.

I'm sitting up!

Grandma and Papa brought me this Minnie Mouse from Disneyworld. It is my new favorite toy!

Our garden

Rodger's tomatoes are nearly twice the size of Sophie! Soon we will have a lot of caprese salad to eat.

Tea Party

I'm 5 months old!

Abby is 5 months old today, and is a healthy happy girl.  She started off this milestone month with some sweet potatoes.  Abby didn't like eating solid foods, so we thought.  Actually she just didn't like rice cereal.  Sweet potatoes, however, she loved!  ( just like her biggest sister)  Abby can sit for moments at a time.  She starting to pull her legs under her body when on her belly.  She has two teeth buds that have broken through.  Abby still wakes at least once a night, and we hope that she'll learn to sleep better soon.

Fourth of July 2011

Sophie at the Milwaukee Zoo showing us the flamingos

All dressed up in their American cuties outfits

Abby enjoyed the Milwaukee children's museum. She is rolling over a lot now and holds herself up.  Here is evidence of her accomplishments!

Instead of the usual Ribfest plans, we decided to spend a lot of this holiday weekend enjoying our new house.  We had a few mini-parties, grilled out, tried new recipes, and planted a butterfly garden.  On the 4th, we traveled to Milwaukee, Wisconsin to watch the Brewers lose to the Arizona Diamondbacks.  Ian Kennedy didn't pitch that day, but we still had a chance to hang out with Allison, Nora, and a few of their baseball friends. We stayed at the Pfister Hotel, went to the zoo, ate at Elsa's, worked out along the lakefront, went to the children's museum and stopped by the "New" Mar's Cheese castle.  It was a fun little get-away for the Gueberts.

Baseball and Apple Pie... Happy Birthday America!

We celebrated the 4th of July in Milwaukee at the MLB game against the Diamondbacks and the Brewers. Although Ian Kennedy didn't pitch, he did take some time after the game to pose with his new daughter, Nora, and wife Allie. We had a great time eating french fries with ketchup and watching the game.

Here Mommy...

Sophie got up from her nap, and while in her crib decided to take her poopy diaper off.  When I came in the room to pick her up, she handed it to me and said "Here Mommy".  I guess she's really getting ready to be potty trained.  We flushed it down the toilet and clapped.  Thanks to the video from the library "Potty Time for Girls", we have a new favorite topic of conversation at our house.
