We went to Southern Illinois for Grandma Lydia's 96th Birthday party.  It was so hot, that Sophie found her way into the pool for a little dip (or two, or three).  She loves the water and enjoys splashing it.  Sophie also goes under water and gets her face wet.  It was so nice to see the Guebert family and her big sister, Loran.

Playing is tough... It requires a good stroller nap with your cousin.

Only 15 years, 2 months, and 16 days until Sophie has her drivers' license.

New skill of the day

Sophie discovered how fun walking can be! We walked the length of the
living room, 7 feet, at least 30 times!

I'm 9 months old!

Sophie is 3/4 of a year old (we are working on our fractions at an
early age). She hasn't mastered crawling but gets around from place to
place alone. She likes to stand up and cruise. She loves to hold hands
and walk and I predict that she will walk by the end of the summer.
Sophie has 8 teeth, weighs 20 lb 4 oz and is at the 75th percentile.
Mommy and Sophie are going to have a fun summer together.

We went to Tango to celebrate Mommy's birthday with the family.  Sophie wore her party dress, and enjoyed sharing her puffs with Oscar.  Thanks for the birthday wishes from all!

Pizza Grinder, the next generation

Lynn and the kids took me out for my birthday. We went to the
children's museum on Navy Pier and to Pizza Grinder. Sophie tried the
meatball sub and loved it. She also ate quite a bit of the
Mediteranean Bread. This tradition, which started with V and Lynn in
1989 will continue on to the next generation. Here is Maddy and Sophie

Swing!!!

Sophie loved her first trip to the Jaycee Park for a ride on the
swings. Every time she went up she gave me a huge smile. I have a
feeling we will be there a lot this summer.
